Hi, I am Bryan Carter.

I am a creative — a photographer, designer and educator living in Montgomery, Alabama with my beautiful wife and four children. I own Carter Photography & Design, a photography and design business where I work with a wide variety of clients such as Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, MOWMAMA, Explore Media, Legacy Senior Living, The River Region United Way, CentrAL Inc, Alabama Law Foundation, Alabama Policy Institute, Vanderbilt University, Child Protect, ADAH, Alabama Living, Wells Fargo & Co., Partners Realty, Crawford Square, The Shoppes at EastChase, Vintage Hospitality, 24 Comm., Rheem Mfg., Hyundai Power Transformers, HB&G Building Products, Ceramica Etc., and many more.

With over thirty years experience, my photography and designs have been published in dozens of local, national and international publications, as well as, countless print and digital materials, online campaigns, and websites — and I'm just getting started.

Want to know more?

Long before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design and Information Systems, I was fascinated with art, design, and technology. My degrees were simply an attempt to legitimize my passions, and they have led me to many opportunities.

To begin with I worked in publishing — designing for local, national and international publications. The world of publishing held my attention exclusively for 14 years, but as I grew I knew I needed to branch out. As a result of that decision, I’ve had the opportunity to work for clients as big as the USAF, Hyundai, GKN, Lucky Brand and Saks Fifth Avenue while photographing US Congressmen and women, Presidents, Fortune 500 CEOs, College Football Stars and many other high profile clients. Every day is a new experience.

While I am honored to have the opportunity to work with world-class clients and individuals, helping startups and small businesses continues to be one of my greatest passions. Where would this world be without the assistance of others willing to serve by pouring their talents, wisdom and experience into those who dare to dream of achieving new levels of success. Carter Photography & Design is committed to helping small businesses succeed by providing affordable photography and design services to meet their audience and fulfill their dreams of success.

I understand the struggle of building a business and climbing the corporate ladder. Production Assistant, Graphic Designer, Digital Systems Consultant, Technical Art Director, Creative Art Director, Web Designer, Producer, Photojournalist, Commercial Photographer — I’ve been called just about everything. I've worn many different hats over the years. Web Design, Database Management, SEO, SEM, Development—they are skills I have learned and have at my disposal, but my passion lies in photography, typography and traditional methods of art & design. I choose my clients and jobs very selectively while not forgetting those who helped me along the way.

I love my job and I’m passionate about the future. Carter Photography & Design has evolved over the years and today the company has three major divisions: CP&D handles all commercial and corporate photography for advertising, real estate and promotions; Taste Buds Photography brings life to the kitchen with incredible food photography and C3D Spaces™ has taken local business to the next level by leveraging immersive 3D technology powered by Matterport and similar systems.

However, one area that we are working to expand is our commitment to education and inspiring of the next generation of creatives. Carter Photography & Design has long since been a part of education within the industry; Participating in conference level education, public speaking and education within our local colleges and high schools, as well as, hands on workshops and tutoring for corporations, organizations, non-profits and individuals throughout the Southeastern United States.

Why am I sharing all of this?

Because I find it comforting to know something about those I work with. I understand that for a job to be performed well and communication to be at its best—a relationship must be formed. I want you to understand where I’m coming from. To know I have a family and have experienced the responsibility of raising children.

Anyone can develop the skills necessary to build a website or to layout an article in a magazine. Marketing graduates can guide you to content for your next ad, Editors can fill your pages. Printers can even combine these materials to the point of final publishing, but it takes a designer to put it all together in such a way that it reaches your target audience and communicates the idea you know it was meant for. It takes a professional photographer to capture just the right expressions and to make your content stand out from the rest with authentic and unique imagery. It takes a passionate and knowledgeable individual to inspire the next generation to excel.

I’m that guy that can carry your project from start to finish. I can deliver on time and with quality workmanship. Your deadlines are important and so is your budget. If I don’t know something, I’ll hire the person that does. With Carter Photography & Design, you don’t have to worry.

Give me a call. Let’s see if we can help one other—it doesn’t have to be big. It doesn’t even have to be design. I’d love to photograph your next corporate event or brainstorm for your next big project. You need video, I do that too. Drones, 3D Scans, Virtual Tours — it’s in my toolbox available to you. Public speaking, teaching engagements, group education or individual tutoring — I do it all the time. Call or email me to find out when my next availability is.

No matter what the job challenges are I can meet your needs, and if I can’t — I’ll help you find someone that can.
