Fueling Economic Growth

Montgomery Secures $2.2 Million in SEEDS Grants for Industrial Development

As a photographer in Montgomery, I recently captured a landmark event for our community: the awarding of $2.2 million in SEEDS grants.

The SEEDS program, a critical part of Alabama’s “Game Plan” for economic expansion, offers communities resources to develop industry-ready sites, essential for attracting competitive businesses. Montgomery’s success in securing multiple SEEDS grants—one of only three counties to do so—underscores the Montgomery Area Chamber’s proactive approach and its partnerships with local organizations, all working to secure growth for our city.

Investing in Key Sites for Business

This grant funding will advance two pivotal projects:

Kershaw Investment Properties Site Assessment

This assessment will examine a 190-acre site along I-85, gathering crucial data to attract future industrial investments.

Infrastructure at the CSX Select Gold Site

Located near Highway 31, this 230-acre site will receive infrastructure enhancements funded by the grant, making it a prime option for large-scale business projects.

A Vision of Progress

Documenting this event wasn’t just about taking photos—it was about capturing a moment of progress. Seeing our city’s leaders come together, dedicated to building Montgomery’s future, was inspiring. With $3.5 billion in advanced manufacturing projects already underway, these SEEDS grants add new momentum, reinforcing Montgomery’s position as a hub for economic opportunity, and it was my pleasure to be at the ready to photograph the awarding of those funds.
