April 18th • Photography Field trip

A few months ago, Carter Photography & Design made a significant decision to collaborate with Booker T. Washington Magnet High School in Montgomery, AL. Recognizing the absence of a dedicated instructor in the Photography Magnet program, we felt compelled to step in and fill the void. Witnessing freshmen lacking fundamental photography knowledge and seniors navigating their careers without substantial portfolios highlighted the missed opportunities for these talented students.

At Carter Photography & Design, we prioritize education and mentorship to foster budding talent. Our collaboration with Booker T. Washington Magnet High School aims to empower students to explore their creativity and develop essential photography skills. Through hands-on instruction and personalized guidance, we prepare students for success in the competitive photography industry.

Our commitment to practical learning experiences led us to organize the first hands-on outing at Ravello, an Italian restaurant in downtown Montgomery. Owner and chef Eric Rivera graciously hosted our instructional exercise, providing students with a real-world setting to apply their photography skills.

At Carter Photography & Design, we believe in making a positive impact in our community. Our partnership with Booker T. Washington Magnet High School exemplifies our dedication to nurturing young talent and shaping the future of photography.
